Overall, the USA is a Safe Trip Destination

Despite Americans’ notorious bravado over guns, they aren’t as common as many international tourists assume. While you may see some hunting rifles if you visit the South, it’s quite rare to see someone walking around in public casually holding a weapon.

Most tourist destinations, in particular, tend to be very safe, with the occasional exception of petty crime. Much like any other part of the world, however, using common sense can go a long way toward staying safe on your trip.

Solo female travelers don’t tend to face problems, especially in well-lit, public areas. Like every other country, some cities have areas where you wouldn’t want to venture alone, but they tend to be fairly obvious and easy to avoid.
