Location and First Impressions

Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa Review
Kyle Kroeger / ViaTravelers

Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa seems a little plain from the outside. It’s tucked away between a row of similar-looking buildings, blending seamlessly into the cityscape.

Its exterior is unassuming, a modest facade that doesn’t scream ‘luxury hotel.’ I probably wouldn’t look twice at it if I were walking by. It’s a small, unassuming building in the city center.

The inside, however, tells a different story. The decor is quaint, a charming mix of modern and traditional elements that create a cozy atmosphere. The lobby isn’t huge or fancy but welcoming, with warm lighting and comfortable seating. It’s the place that invites you to sit down and relax, to take a moment to unwind after a long journey.

Overall, my first impression was that this hotel was small, and I was worried it wouldn’t be worth what we paid. But there was nothing to worry about. Despite its humble exterior and modest size, the hotel has amenities and features that make it a worthwhile choice for any traveler.

From its location near Place de la Bastille to its rooms, from its staff to its facilities, Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa is a gem hidden in plain sight.

Check-in was smooth and easy. The staff was super friendly. We arrived two hours before check-in time but decided to see if they would let us go to our room. Our room was available, so they let us check in early. It was a welcome relief after a long night of traveling.

At Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa, the rooms beautifully blended modernity with classic French charm. Although a bit small, they had modern updates.

They were clean and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable, and the pillows were fluffy. Our room only had a claw foot tub, but I was told that there were rooms with showers available. We had a balcony that overlooked the street.

I was worried that city life would keep me awake, but the windows were pretty soundproof, so we had no issues. The bathroom had nice bathrobes, slippers, and Nuxe brand lotions and shampoos.

There’s no shortage of options, with options like a standard double or twin room, spacious suites, and even rooms with connecting doors for larger groups or families.

One standout feature I noticed was the tasteful décor, which created an inviting and personalized atmosphere. Each room features a flat-screen TV and air conditioning is available, essential during those hot summer days in Paris.

Here are the room options for Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa:

Room Comfort

As for comfort, I can confidently say that Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa exceeded my expectations. The beds were plush and enveloping, perfect for a restful slumber after a long day exploring the city.

The living room areas provided ample space for relaxation and unwinding. Regarding amenities, the boutique hotel ensures that all your needs are met, offering free WiFi, air conditioning, and even daily housekeeping. It’s clear that at Le Petit Beaumarchais, the guest experience is truly paramount.

Property Amenities & Facilities

There was free wifi, which I appreciated. I can never really take a full vacation off work. I also took full advantage of the coffee and tea served in the breakfast room all day. There’s also a cocktail bar, a spa, and a flotarium, which I had never heard of. More on that later.

Dining and Cuisine

Breakfast is my favorite meal, and this place does breakfast right. Every day from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., there is a buffet of fresh pastries, pancakes, eggs, meats, cheeses, fruit, and more. It was a great way to start the day.

They have a great hotel bar with an excellent selection of wine and cocktails. My favorite was the 1769 cocktail, which also paired well with the few tasty small plates offered by the hotel.

On-Site Library and Meeting Space

One of my favorite features of Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa lies within their on-site library. The cozy and inviting atmosphere allows guests to unwind and indulge in their favorite literature. With an impressive collection spanning various genres, this library provides an exceptional experience for bookworms and casual readers.

Apart from the literary haven, the hotel also caters to professionals seeking a quiet, convenient meeting space. The location offers quiet and well-equipped areas suitable for any business requirements. These meeting spaces cover everything from formal conferences to creative brainstorming sessions.

Thoughtful touches such as comfortable seating, stable Wi-Fi connection, and relevant presentation tools sweeten the deal. These features render Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa an ideal destination for leisure and business travelers visiting the heart of Paris.

Entering the spa area at Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa, I immediately felt a sense of tranquility and relaxation. The atmosphere was perfect for a revitalizing experience. I often book hotels with spas as traveling also warrants relaxation.

One thing that stood out at Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa was the selection of offers and treatments. They had carefully curated options to cater to various preferences and needs. It felt like they truly put thought into crafting an exceptional experience for their guests, not just having a spa for the sake of it.

I opted for a massage treatment with an approved practitioner, seeking relief from the stress of my travels. The professional who tended to me seemed to truly understand massage and know how to use the right techniques.

This was evident in the quality of their work, relieving tension in my tightened muscles. I felt a significant difference after the session throughout my stay in Paris.

During my visit to the spa, I also noticed a sauna and a flotarium. Even without booking, each hotel guest gets an hour spa booking, including sauna access and the chance to enjoy the flotarium.

With the sauna access provided, I had to take a moment to refresh. On the other hand, the flotarium presented me with an entirely new experience.

For those unfamiliar, this is a floatation tank filled with saltwater that imitates the sensation of weightlessness. As I floated, my body felt relaxed; it was an ideal way to clear my mind, ease into meditation, and forget that I was in the middle of Paris.

Unique Selling Points

The spa at Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel, with its unique flotarium, truly sets it apart. What’s a flotarium, you ask? Picture a pool filled with a high concentration of sea salt that allows you to float effortlessly. It’s a surreal yet calming sensation.

Each guest is granted an hour of exclusive use in the flotarium so that you can enjoy the experience in private. Just remember to reserve your slot in advance! On top of this, you also get access to the sauna.

Let’s delve a bit more into the flotarium experience. It’s not your average spa treatment; it’s a voyage into serenity and relaxation. The flotarium is designed to recreate the Dead Sea’s unique properties, where the high salt concentration lets you float without effort.

The journey begins when you enter the pool and feel the warm, salty water against your skin. As you recline, you’ll float as if by magic. The water fully supports your body, alleviating pressure from your joints and enabling your muscles to relax completely. The sensation is similar to floating in space, a feeling of weightlessness that is both peculiar and comforting.

This distinctive spa offering is a must-try for wellness enthusiasts or anyone seeking a novel way to unwind and relax. And remember, access to the sauna is included, allowing you to sweat out any residual stress after your floating session.

For a modern hotel so close to everything, including the Metro, Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa is definitely a good value. The convenience of its location is a major selling point.

Imagine stepping out of your hotel and having the whole city at your fingertips, ready to be explored. It’s the kind of experience that makes traveling truly memorable.

The continental breakfast and buffet are other highlights that deserve special mention. The variety and quality of the food are remarkable, ensuring a delightful start to your day. The clean rooms, while not grandiose, are well-maintained and provide a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing.

The unique experience of the flotarium is just the icing on the cake. Not every day, you float in a pool of salty water, wholly relaxed and detached from the world’s worries. It’s a unique experience that sets this spa hotel apart from others.

Not to mention the extremely friendly staff. Their warmth and willingness to help enhance the overall experience of your stay. They are always ready with a smile, making you feel welcome and at home.

Paris is a beautiful city with many things to do, but finding a great hotel that is worth the price can be difficult. Le Petit Beaumarchais Hotel & Spa perfectly balances affordability and quality in a great location within steps of the Place de La Bastille. It offers a comfortable, enjoyable stay without breaking the bank.

I definitely recommend this hotel if you aren’t looking for something super luxurious. It has everything you need but isn’t overly fancy. It’s the perfect choice for travelers who appreciate their accommodations’ comfort, convenience, and uniqueness.
