Considerations For Choosing Accommodations in West Seattle

There aren’t any hotels in West Seattle. Nada. Your search for West Seattle hotels ends here. However, there aren’t any true hotels, but there is one inn/motel situation. Grove West Seattle Inn is centrally located, and as far as motels go, it’s genuinely pretty fantastic (we’ll get into greater detail in a bit).

There are also a couple of Bed and Breakfasts of varying quality. Other than that, West Seattle is primarily a residential area, not often visited by tourists for any reason other than Alki Beach Park.

If staying in a hotel is essential to your stay, you’ll have to cross over the West Seattle Bridge and try your luck in SoDo or South Seattle. You’ll still be pretty close to West Seattle, and you won’t be far from downtown Seattle either, but you’ll miss out on fully experiencing the charm of West Seattle if that’s your choice.

The popular Grove West Seattle Inn is the only hotel resembling one in West Seattle. Even so, it’s a fantastic place to stay – a veritable king amongst motels—this place rocks, featuring crisp, modern, and homey retro aesthetics.

It’s only a few minutes from downtown Seattle. King County International Airport, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. It’s the perfect fusion of prime location, essential amenities, friendly staff, and comfy rooms – and it’s good value for money. Here’s the gen:

The Treehouse is a relatively well-known studio apartment in West Seattle that is popular with Instagrammers. It’s not hard to see why since it’s a visual gem on the outside, and its decor is to die for, not to mention the dreamy balcony!

It’s also good if you’re looking to save some money. Bear in mind this is a pretty small space housed in a single room with a half bathroom over an old garage.

The kitchen is also limited to a sink and microwave. But if you’re looking for a short stay in a beautiful place, look no further.

5. This 1910 Beach Bungalow

This little beach bungalow, built in 1910 on Alki Point, is as charming as it sounds. It’s just 1500 square feet, but it has room to sleep up to six in two bedrooms. It has two full baths, a kitchen, a dining area, and a deck and patio. It also has a lovely garden, which was actually featured on the 2003 West Seattle Garden Tour.

It’s only three blocks from Alki Beach, and in summer, you can see the Olympic Mountains across the water on your walk there. But if you feel like relaxing at home, there’s a hot tub on the back deck and a little kid-safe fish pond in the yard, too.

6. This Breathtaking Home near Alki Beach

If you need more space or have a larger group, this recently remodeled craftsman home sleeps eight in three bedrooms and has two full bathrooms. You’ve got laundry, a comfy living room, plus decks on both the front and the back of the house for entertaining or lounging in the sun.

If you like to cook, the kitchen has a modern gas-burning stove and a grill on the back patio. This jolly blue house is only a block off Beach Avenue, close to Alki Beach Park, so you can walk to the beach and back. It also has great city views of Seattle, so don’t forget your camera.

It’s one of the best options on this list if you’re craving the homey neighborhood vibe of West Seattle while still being within easy reach of downtown.

It’s got all the mod cons any family could need, as well as two kitchens and a cute little balcony. The hosts/property managers are highly regarded, friendly, helpful, and responsive – always a huge plus!

The furnishings and decor are a unique blend of antique, mid-century, and modern, almost showcasing a timescale of Seattle through the ages.

It has a modern kitchen and a few other recent updates too. Sleeping up to eight, there are a couple of hangout nooks and a beautiful back garden with a patio.

If that weren’t enough, you can enjoy some magnificent vistas of Puget Sound, the Space Needle, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. It’s also within walking distance of Hamilton Viewpoint Park and Duwamish Head if you’re hungry for more incredible views.
