Best Restaurants in Jackson Hole
So, where do locals eat in Jackson Hole? What are the best restaurants in Jackson Hole for families? We’ve got you covered – take a look at some of travelers’ all-time favorites below.
1. Local Restaurant & Bar
Address: 55 N Cache St, Jackson, WY 83001
First up is one of the best-rated restaurants in Jackson: Local Restaurant & Bar. This modern and upscale steakhouse is most appreciated for its locally-ranched meats and game, and it’s in a prime location in Jackson’s historic Town Square.
In addition to the extensive menu filled with steak, seafood, and other various entrees, you’ll definitely want to order a few of their fun and unique libations. If your go-to is a tropical-flavored drink, try out the Alllrighty Then, which contains lemongrass-infused rum, coconut cream, Thai basil, and lime juice.
If you don’t have a huge appetite but are hoping to sample the wide array of plates available at Local, I recommend sharing a bunch of small bites. The herb-roasted bone marrow, buffalo tartare, and customizable charcuterie are perfect for sampling a lot of what this amazing eatery has to offer.

2. Snake River Grill
Address: 84 E Broadway Ave, Jackson, WY 83001
Another must-try in Jackson’s Town Square is the Snake River Grill, a high-end eatery using only the freshest and finest ingredients in the area. People love it for the warm atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious food. The cuisine is described as modern American, and many dishes are cooked in the restaurant’s wood-burning oven.
The log cabin-esque dining room is warm and cozy after a day in the mountains, and you won’t want to fill up before dessert here. The butterscotch trifle, made with winter spice cake and butterscotch pudding, will complete the warm and cozy vibes. The dress code is “Jackson casual,” and while kids are more than welcome, note that there aren’t high chairs or special menus available.

3. The Restaurant at White Buffalo Club
Address: 160 W Gill Ave A, Jackson, WY 83001
The White Buffalo Club is a popular upscale hotel in northern Jackson. Their dining room, called The Restaurant, offers out-of-this-world steaks, seafood, and other local fare. It was awarded the Diners’ Choice designation by OpenTable in 2019.
Visitors love the sophisticated, lodge-like decor but appreciate the casual atmosphere. For an amazing view, ask if you can be seated upstairs.
The Restaurant at White Buffalo Club is serious about its steaks, serving some of the best USDA Prime cuts available. For a unique experience, opt for the bison filet. Pair it with the roasted black garlic butter and a side of wild mushrooms. There’s an extensive wine list – more than 1,100 bottles, to be exact – and plenty of local beers stocked at the bar. Families will find options available for everyone on this menu.

Clearly, there’s no shortage of steakhouses and fine dining dinner establishments in Jackson Hole – so let’s take a look at one of the best Jackson Hole restaurants for quick breakfasts and coffee. The Cowboy Coffee Co. is your local go-to cafe and bakery, with the main location in Jackson Town Square and another drive-through and walk-up window in the southern part of town.
Grab a cup of Jackson’s finest and most carefully-sourced coffee on your way to the beautiful sights of the valley. Coffee beans are available for purchase if you want to take some home.
The Cowboy Burrito, made with eggs, your choice of meat or veggies, cheese, and avocado aioli, is perfect for keeping you full and satisfied for a long day on the slopes or hiking trails. Additionally, all sandwiches at Cowboy Coffee Co. can be made gluten-free.
5. The Mangy Moose

The Mangy Moose is a local favorite up on the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort ski and snowboarding area. It’s especially popular with guests staying at nearby hotels like the Four Seasons, Snake River Lodge & Spa, and others, but also impressive enough to bring in visitors from the downtown Jackson Hole area.
It has a rustic American tavern vibe, with flags, moose heads, and general western stuff lining the walls. Pancakes and eggs are available in the morning, and there are extensive menus at the cafe, restaurant, and saloon in the afternoon and evening. Grab some wings and beer for the daily live music at this top after-ski destination on the mountain. A kids’ menu is also available.

6. Trio | An American Bistro
Address: 45 S Glenwood St, Jackson, WY 83001
If you’re craving some good old American comfort food with a bit of a contemporary twist, you have to check out Trio. The restaurant provides a casual and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy delicious food and cocktails. The most popular starter is the Bleu Cheese Waffle Fries, which is every bit as decadent as you can imagine. The hot and crispy fries are topped with blue cheese fondue, scallions, and freshly cracked black pepper. Simple yet tasty!
Other popular dishes include the prosciutto and arugula pizza, the Trio Burger, and the Bison Oxtail Sugo. For beer lovers, check out their selection of local and international offerings, including the lager from Snake River Brewing, based right in Jackson Hole.
7. Million Dollar Cowboy Bar
Address: 25 N Cache St, Jackson, WY 83001
No visit to the Jackson Hole area is complete without a stop at the kitschy Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. Located right in the center of downtown Jackson, this local watering hole is one of the best places to eat in Jackson Hole if live entertainment and quick bites are what you’re searching for.
The menu includes shareable snacks, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. The local bison and huckleberry sausage sandwich is delicious and pairs perfectly with the sautéed onions and peppers. Don’t miss an opportunity to sit on one of the fun Western-inspired saddle barstools while enjoying some country music and a lively atmosphere.
Drinks are a must here, and the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar doesn’t disappoint with its extensive list of wine, specialty cocktails, whiskey, and beers. If you love Moscow Mules like me, I highly recommend the Cowboy Mule, made with ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and your choice of alcohol. I recommend something local, like Grand Teton Vodka, Yellowstone Bourbon, or 44 North Huckleberry Vodka.

8. Orsetto Italian Bar and Eatery
Address: 161 Center St, Jackson, WY 83001
Located in charming downtown Jackson Hole, Orsetto Italian Bar and Eatery is one of the most popular restaurants in Jackson Hole for light and classic Italian cuisine. There’s something for everyone at this eatery, but I recommend ordering a bunch of antipasti and bruschetta to share. The ricotta bruschetta features truffle honey and walnuts, or you can opt for something simpler, like the marinated tomato bruschetta, which includes burrata, olive oil, and basil.
The menu isn’t extensive but does include all the classics, such as ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan, and various kinds of bruschetta. The wait staff is super knowledgeable and can assist you with any wine pairings. The extensive wine list features over 40 wines, all of which are sourced from Italy.

9. Persephone Bakery
Address: 145 E Broadway Ave, Jackson, WY 83001
Voted “the most beautiful coffee shop in Wyoming” by Architectural Digest, this upscale bakery and cafe offers a wide array of breakfast, lunch, and pastries that are sure to delight all of your senses. It was even featured in Food & Wine’s “48 Hours in Jackson Hole: Everything You Need to Eat and Drink” article.
The most mouthwatering item on the breakfast menu has to be the bread pudding French toast. It’s one of the most innovative takes on a classic breakfast item and includes cinnamon ricotta and an apple compote. Their delectable (and gluten-free) French macaron selection varies daily. Everything here is absolutely delicious; you just can’t go wrong!

10. Big Hole BBQ
Address: 325 W Pearl Ave, Jackson, WY 83001
If you’ve got a craving for mouthwatering, slow-cooked BBQ, you have to check out Big Hole BBQ. The small, family-owned restaurant makes all of their barbecue items from scratch using fresh ingredients.
The extensive menu offers everything from delicious pierogies to smoked chicken wings, fish tacos, burgers, and of course, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. While most visitors will be here for the BBQ Pork Ribs, I definitely suggest trying out other menu items, such as the Prime Rib Sammy and the Mini BBQ Tacos.
11. Piste Mountain Bistro
Address: 3395 Cody Ln, Teton Village, WY 83025
Piste has to be one of the coolest dining experiences in the ski village and even the whole Jackson Hole area. It’s located on a mountaintop that you’ll have to take a gondola to access. As you might imagine, this means amazing views, which can be enjoyed from their outdoor terrace in the right weather!
This very popular restaurant is open for lunch in the winter and dinner in the summer, and the menu changes for the season. Piste is big on sourcing everything locally, from the meats to the plates, and quality is guaranteed here. While it’s not the cheapest dining experience, it will be hard to find a ribeye or bison steak that competes with Piste’s.

12. Dornan’s Pizza & Pasta Company
Address: 12170 Dornans Rd, Moose, WY 83012
If you happen to visit Grand Teton National Park outside of late spring and summer, you may notice that the number of restaurant options you have in the park starts to dwindle. Don’t worry, though. One year-round eatery is Dornan’s Pizza & Pasta Company, which boasts beautiful rooftop views and an extensive menu offering.
Static Peak is not only a crowd-favorite peak to hike to but also the name of a mouth-watering pizza that features BBQ sauce, chicken, smoked gouda, and red onion. All 12-inch pizzas can be made with gluten-free dough.
While the restaurant is, of course, best known for its pizzas, they also have a wide array of unique appetizers, such as pepperoni rolls and the spicy burrata affogato. There is also a kids’ menu, and pitchers of soft drinks are available. The restaurant is located in a lodge, perfect for a relaxing place to rest between discovering Grand Teton’s most scenic hiking trails.
13. Jackson Drug
Address: 15 E Deloney Ave, Jackson, WY 83001
One of the local, iconic staples of Jackson is Jackson Drug, which has been serving its famous burgers, sodas, ice creams, and shakes for over 100 years. It’s been a family business all that time and will transport you back to old-time Jackson for a wonderful meal.
You’ll find it on a street corner in Town Square, across the street from Cowboy Coffee Co. It’s a retro soda fountain with American classics that locals love. Don’t pass up on their homemade shakes, ice creams, and sundaes – even in the snow.

14. Teton Thai
Address: 7342 Granite Loop Rd, Teton Village, WY 83025
Teton Thai is among one of the best restaurants in Jackson Hole for dinner. The restaurant is located just at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and is the perfect place to satisfy your appetite after a long day of hiking or skiing. The heated porch is an awesome place to warm up in the winter as you enjoy some warm, delicious entrees.
You can’t go wrong with some Tom Kha Gai soup after a long day out in the cold, snowy weather. The pineapple fried rice is a true crowd-pleaser, as is the Panang curry with crispy duck. All noodle dishes, along with most rice dishes, can be made either vegan or vegetarian, depending on your preferences.
15. Gun Barrel Steak & Game House
Address: 862 W Broadway, Jackson, WY 83001
As you will discover during your visit, the Jackson Hole area has no shortage of amazing steakhouses. One steakhouse you’ll have to add to your must-visit list is Gun Barrel Steak & Game House. This unique restaurant is filled with cowboy memorabilia and was formerly the Wyoming Wildlife Museum & Taxidermy.
The menu is diverse, including Italian dishes, soups, various steaks, bison, elk, and venison. If you want a bit of everything, I suggest the Mixed Game Grill platter, which includes elk steak, bison prime rib, and venison bratwurst. Be sure to save room for dessert – you won’t want to miss out on the delicious deep-dish apple pie topped with a rich butter cream sauce.

If you’re looking for a spectacular way to end your trip to Jackson Hole, you must enjoy a sleigh ride and ranch dinner at the Mill Iron Ranch. Besides the delicious t-bone steak dinner, your family can enjoy a magical sleigh ride through the picturesque Wyoming wilderness, where you can often spot wild game, elk, and stunning views of the surrounding jagged mountains.
This is one dining experience where you’ll definitely want to keep your camera handy! If you have picky eaters, they can also enjoy chicken or fish instead.
