About

Fort Worth, Texas, is a major North Texas city that proudly preserves its Old West roots, earning the nickname Cowtown as one of the busiest stops on the historic Chisholm Trail cattle-driving route. Its centerpiece is the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, home to the Fort Worth Herd, the world’s only twice-daily cattle drive, where drovers in period dress herd Texas Longhorns down East Exchange Avenue at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The district’s Cowtown Coliseum hosts weekly rodeos, while the Stockyards Museum traces the city’s frontier history. Fort Worth also boasts a world-class Cultural District whose five museums include the Kimbell Art Museum, a Louis Kahn-designed landmark housing works by Rembrandt, Monet, and Picasso, plus the Amon Carter Museum and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. Fort Worth uniquely blends authentic cowboy culture with refined fine art.
