What is inside the planner?

  • Your next trip: note your destination, travel dates, priorities and the experiences you most want to make time for.
  • Bookings and getting around: keep transport details, accommodation addresses, check-in information and booking references together.
  • Your week at a glance: sketch morning, afternoon and evening plans across seven days.
  • A day worth remembering: make a more detailed daily schedule with room for transport, food stops and a backup plan.
  • Your travel budget: compare estimated and actual expenses, track who paid, and note what is left to spend.
  • Pack for your trip: build your own checklist for essentials, clothing, toiletries and trip-specific gear.
  • Before you leave: assign tasks, dates and responsibilities so the final preparations are easy to follow.
  • Bring the memories home: record a favorite moment, something you learned, and places you would like to revisit.

How to use the travel planner

Start with the overview sheet. Write down the places you are considering and what matters most to your group: time outdoors, museums, food, rest, or a mix. Our destination guides can help you explore places and find relevant articles before you choose your stops.

Put fixed commitments, such as flights and timed reservations, into the weekly plan first. Group nearby sights together and leave space for meals, travel between stops and changes of plan. Use the daily sheet when you need more detail; print extra copies for a longer trip. For a fuller walkthrough, see how to make a travel itinerary.

Use one currency for your budget totals, and distinguish estimates from money already spent. The worksheet is a place to record your figures; it does not calculate totals or provide live prices. Build your packing list around the destination, season, activities and luggage allowance. Our vacation packing checklist is a starting point you can adapt.

Printing and saving your copy

The pages are designed for US Letter paper. Choose actual size when printing on Letter, or fit to page when using A4. You can print only the sheets you need, including extra copies of the daily plan or travel journal. The white background and simple outlines keep the worksheets easy to write on.

To type into the PDF, download it first and open it in a PDF reader that supports form fields. Save a copy, close it and reopen it to check that your entries were kept. If your browser preview does not support filling or saving fields, use a PDF reader or print a blank copy instead. Your completed file stays wherever you save it; this page does not ask you to upload your plans.

This is a blank planning template, not a booked itinerary. Check opening hours, transport schedules, entry requirements and reservation conditions with the relevant provider or authority before you travel. Keep completed booking details and personal notes private when sharing a copy.
