The opulent property is situated near the heart of Sorrento, surrounded by a lush citrus garden and a stone’s throw away from both shopping and bustling nightlife.
Strolling through the grounds, it’s hard to miss the massive terraced outdoor pool area and an indoor grotto-like pool that makes for a unique outdoor swimming pool experience. Regarding accommodations, each room boasts a balcony, minibar, desk, and hairdryer – some even flaunting modern renovations.
I wasn’t that impressed when I arrived at the Hilton Sorrento Palace. The front of the hotel isn’t much to write home about. But my opinion quickly changed once I got inside. It’s beautifully decorated inside, and the heated indoor pool area looks like it belongs in an art gallery.
The backside of the hotel opens up to a fantastic view of the Bay of Naples. You can see the bay and all of these adorable little villas. This place is the definition of “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” It was a bit further from the city center than I would have liked.
I love this hotel because of its strategic location for exploring the Amalfi Coast and the Bay of Naples. The picturesque towns of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello are just a short drive away, and the stunning landscape of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed coastline is a must-see.
Furthermore, the hotel’s breathtaking hillside setting offers incredible views of the Bay of Naples, a marvelous sight during my stay.
In essence, Hilton Sorrento Palace is a fabulous choice for those wishing to fully immerse themselves in the beauty and culture of Southern Italy. The proximity to key attractions, such as Naples, Sorrento Port, Amalfi Coast, and the Bay of Naples, makes it an ideal base for an unforgettable adventure.
My Italian is terrible, and I was a little nervous to interact with the staff, but they immediately put me at ease. They all speak English well, so I didn’t have to embarrass myself by trying to communicate in Italian. They were friendly, and the process didn’t take long at all. We were up in our room in no time. I wouldn’t expect anything else from a Hilton-branded hotel.
The rooms are a decent size. Our room was a little plain but clean. The bed was comfy and was recently renovated. It felt fresh and bright. The bathroom was a good size, with a hairdryer and free toiletries each day. There was a lot of storage space, but my favorite part was the balcony, which offered beautiful city views.
The Executive Room is a cozy and versatile space that provides guests with a picturesque balcony and much-needed air conditioning. It includes a desk, fridge, and safe, catering to business and pleasure needs. As a Hilton Honors Member, guests in executive rooms have exclusive access to the Executive Lounge, which offers complimentary breakfast and evening drinks.
The Deluxe Rooms offer a luxurious stay with spacious accommodations adorned with artwork that embodies the essence of Italian charm. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea from the balcony. Modern amenities such as a refrigerator and a safe are provided to ensure that guests’ essentials are well-organized.
The Suites with Sea View is a luxurious experience that offers guests an unobstructed view of the serene sapphire ocean. As a Diamond Member, guests can enjoy access to the Executive Lounge and its breezy services.
The air conditioning provides a comfortable atmosphere, while the balcony offers a personal retreat. The in-room refrigerator, safe, and desk combination satisfy guests’ every necessity. Overall, the Suites with Sea View are a worthwhile investment for those seeking a lavish getaway.
The rooms at the Hilton Sorrento Palace are spacious, though not as beautifully decorated as other parts of the hotel. Our room was a little plain but clean, and the bed was comfy. Since I write for a living, I need my wifi, and luckily, the hotel’s wifi provided a strong signal.
The hotel has an indoor heated pool, which was my favorite place to be. We visited in March, so the six connected outdoor pools, which are only open in the summer months, weren’t open. But they looked like a great place to lounge during the summer.
One of the things I was most excited about on my trip to Italy was trying the local food. On the first night, we ate at Sorrento Restaurant. Our server told us that many ingredients come from the hotel’s garden, which is so cool. Everything we tried was mouthwateringly good, especially the Tagliolini pasta stuffed with king crab.
Did I mention the desserts? The lemon dessert with wild strawberries was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. The Sorrento Lounge was our go-to place for late-night snacks.
They have a good selection of cocktails, wine, and small plates like sandwiches and salads. There is also a Japanese restaurant onsite that we didn’t get to try. Maybe next time.
Compliments to the Hilton Sorrento Palace for an enticing breakfast spread that graced my taste buds in the morning. The buffet offers a rich selection of English and Italian favorites. My personal favorite and free breakfast here? Fresh pastries baked every morning and served with an assortment of fruit preserves and cheeses – Bellissimo!
For those seeking more than just breakfast from their stay, the Hilton Sorrento provides various dining options. The on-site restaurant serves everything from delightful seafood dishes to classic pasta plates. The chefs demonstrate their artistry with every dish, and the flavors won’t disappoint.
In addition, the hotel offers room service, presenting the chance to savor their culinary magic from the comfort of your quarters.
Beyond the breakfast buffet and delicious dining choices, Hilton Sorrento Palace is home to a charming bar and lounge area. Whether looking to relax and unwind with an expertly crafted cocktail or seeking out savory snacks and light bites, the options here are perfect for an evening of relaxation and indulgence.
The elegance and warmth from the bar and lounge deepen my appreciation for the Hilton Sorrento Palace. The only challenge lies in deciding what gastronomic delight to explore next.
My time at the Hilton Sorrento Palace brought me to their well-maintained swimming pools. The large terraced outdoor pool is a true sight, with multiple levels and a distinct grotto feel. For those chillier days, venture into their indoor pool, mimicking a cave with its unique design. Both offer comfy loungers and umbrellas for your relaxation pleasure.
As a fitness enthusiast, I need to hit the gym even while traveling. Thankfully, the Hilton Sorrento Palace boasts a modern, fully-equipped fitness center. It houses a range of essential workout machines, free weights, and cardio equipment, ensuring I maintained my exercise regimen during my stay.
Hilton Sorrento Palace provides families and sports enthusiasts with a delightful playground and tennis court. My time on the tennis court challenged me to up my game while soaking in the Italian sunshine. The property’s playground offers kids ample space to play and socialize, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all guests.
Nestled among the hotel’s amenities is its gorgeous citrus garden, home to an array of lemon and orange trees. Strolling through the fragrant garden, I felt a sense of tranquility and connection to nature. It definitely adds to the overall atmosphere of this Mediterranean oasis.
I would say the most unique selling point for this hotel was the citrus garden that surrounds it. The garden is beautiful, and the trees provide a friendly, shady walking place. This was crucial as I have a small toddler with plenty of energy.
I took a walk in this area almost every day at the hotel. Another selling point was that there is a pool option no matter the season. In the winter, you can enjoy the indoor heated pool; in the summer, you can swim in the outdoor pools.
The hotel is somewhat close to Sorrento, but it’s a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the town center. It’s only a 15-minute walk to Sorrento, a city full of historic streets and adorable shops. There were so many places selling antiques and ceramic knickknacks.
The town is very charming and full of lemon trees. We found a place called Limonoro that served homemade Lemoncello, which was terrific. I am also a history buff, so I was excited that Pompeii was only about an hour away.
I’ve handpicked some of your most popular and refreshing nearby attractions.
Standing tall and proud, the mighty Mount Vesuvius awaits just 15 miles from the Hilton Sorrento Palace. This active volcano is famous for its unexpected eruption in AD 79, destroying the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
Today, adventurous visitors can trek to the summit and gaze down into the smoldering crater, witnessing the ominous yet breathtaking natural wonder. Guided hikes are available, ensuring a safe and informative journey.
If retail therapy is your idea of relaxation, walk through the charming streets of Sorrento, just a 10-minute walk from the Hilton Sorrento Palace. You’ll find many delightful artisan shops, high-end boutiques, and markets here.
Lap up the lively atmosphere as you browse through handcrafted leather goods, ceramics, and Limoncello – a liqueur symbolizing the essence of the Amalfi Coast. In addition to the small local shops, major shopping centers are easily accessible, featuring well-known international brands.
For those keen on discovering the picturesque surroundings beyond Sorrento, the train station lies within easy reach from the Hilton Sorrento Palace. The Circumvesuviana rail service offers a gateway to fascinating destinations like Naples, Pompeii, and Herculaneum.
Travelers can glimpse the bygone era while exploring these mesmerizing cities steeped in history and rich artistic heritage. Additionally, the train station ensures a convenient and hassle-free journey, connecting you to the heart of Italy and beyond.
Though the entrance appears lacking, the ocean views, clean rooms, friendly staff, and beautiful location make the Hilton Sorrento Palace worth the money.
What jumped out at me were the property amenities at this place. Just a 10-minute walk from Sorrento’s main square, I was surrounded by private parking, numerous eateries, and mesmerizing hillside views. The Hilton Sorrento Palace’s location truly made it all worthwhile.
The outdoor pool area and indoor grotto-like pool offered some much-needed relaxation during my stay. Despite some guest complaints regarding poor soundproofing in the rooms, I found the overall experience valuable, considering these extraordinary features.
Be ready for:
I am sure there are less expensive places to stay in this area, but they might not have delicious restaurants, heated pools, and breathtaking ocean views. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would love to return. Though, I will save up for a more luxurious suite next time.
Indeed, Hilton Sorrento Palace boasts family rooms with some newly renovated units featuring modern designs. These contemporary rooms offer a refreshing experience to guests looking for updated accommodations within this beautiful property.
The Hilton Sorrento Palace is a mere 10-minute walk from Sorrento’s main square. This prime position allows visitors easy access to numerous eateries, shopping spots, and the bustling nightlife that the city provides.
While I couldn’t find explicit information on laundry facilities, being a Hilton property, it’s likely that the hotel provides laundry services or has laundry facilities. It’s best to contact the hotel management directly for a more precise answer.
Regrettably, I couldn’t unearth the exact number of rooms at Hilton Sorrento Palace. However, the property is known for being expansive, and as a reputable establishment, it accommodates many guests.
