Iowa is considered one of the ten best states to live in, which means it’s surely worth a visit. Situated in the upper Midwest, it’s known for its rolling fields and farmland, parks, pigs, changeable weather, and as the birthplace of John Wayne.
Des Moines is the largest city and capital, but there are plenty of hidden gems in the Hawkeye State. Sioux City is a prime example at the navigational head of the Missouri River on the border with Nebraska.
Although it might be considered a little out of the way, Sioux City offers plenty of interesting attractions for intrepid road-trippers and curious vacationers. Nature lovers, historians, and art connoisseurs are particularly well taken care of.
